One of London's most Instagram friendly food courts, Pergola Paddington has proved to be a big hit and the fashionable food court is back with a winter makeover. Offering a warming cocktails menu, the vast venue, with a covered dining area for 850, has been weather-proofed for winter with thick blankets and heating as well as a transparent roof on the top deck. The four warming winter menus are by Southern Mexican specialists Yucatan, serving spicy, tropically infused Mexican food. Burger legends Patty & Bun are back again, alongside Vietnamese barbecue masters MAM and duck devotees Canard. Each has created a winter menu with a focus on wholesome and hearty dishes. It all adds up to a n ideal spot for a winter outing, fuelled by mulled wine. You can book in for free for groups of up to 199 people or simply walk-in and escape the cold , no booking required.

Dine in your own personal snow globe alongside the Thames this winter. The four private dining domes are part of Jimmy's Lodge On The River, created by Jimmy Garcia of Jimmy's Pop Ups fame. Serving a set menu which includes a trio of canapes followed by traditional Alpine fondue and the option of Cote de Boeuf to share, these snow globes are the ideal alternative option for a group get-together or a staff Christmas meal. An alpine foodie retreat, Jimmy's Lodge also serves a fondue menu at 'The Refuge', upstairs in the first-floor restaurant. In addition, there's a more accessible grab-and-go menu from the Winter Grill downstairs, so you can eat as you stroll along, taking in the winter market and views over the river.


Skylight Rooftop

From 1st November 2018, Skylight gets a winter makeover with rooftop ice rink, cosy igloos and huts on top of Tobacco Dock . The winter season brings h eated apres skate bars, draped in glimmering lights, serving warming winter cocktails, mulled wine as well as beers and ciders. Set on the top three levels of a former car park in Wapping, the 600 capacity Skylight has multiple bars, indoor and outdoor seating areas, and two street food stalls, all set against some of the finest views in the city - you can see The Shard , The Gherkin and the Walkie Talkie from here. Food wise, Raclette Brothers are bringing their signature Alpine treats with copious amounts of melted cheese and Yiro return with a seasonal menu. DJs, seasonal events and parties add to the offer with New Year's Eve celebrations sponsored by Moet et Chandon and a Burn's Night Ceilidh in January fuelled by Monkey Shoulder whisky drinks.


The Magic Roundabout

The demolition of Old Street roundabout has been slightly delayed so the Magic Roundabout is back for a final winter, remaining open until 1st January 2019. The heated outdoor has been turned into a smoking hot slice of Latin America for its last few months. Transformed into Fiesta Del Magia, from Friday October 12th the main dancefloor becomes a Latin American town square complete with Frida's cocktail bar and an onsite chapel - the perfect place to confess sins. Located slap bang in the middle of Old Street roundabout and accessed via a secret staircase in the tube station, the unique residency has a DJ booth, dancefloor and a dodega which comfortably accommodates up to 35 guests with seating for up to 20. A top location for an Old Street bar crawl since June 2015 so don't miss your last chance to enjoy it.


Coppa Club Winter Igloos

The instagram hit, Coppa Club's igloos along the Thames are back and this year they're even better. They've been re-designed by Coppa Club's design manager, Theresa Obermoser, as timber frame structures with Perspex sliding doors, all fully furnished enclosures with heating, blankets and speakers. Serving a Christmas menu from mid November, these cosy igloos make an ideal venue for Christmas lunch with a festive feel. Last year they sold out within 48 hours, so be quick. Bookings are live from Tuesday 9th October.


John Lewis: Skyline Skating

Following on from the Summer of Sound on the Roof, John Lewis turns the rooftop above its Oxford Street store into a winter hideaway. The 7th floor space has undergone a complete makeover, serving posh hot gin drinks - it's sponsored by Sipsmith - and, for the first time ever, it has a Skyline Skating rink. Book in at one of two 'Hideaways' to enjoy mulled sloe gin and hot G&Ts as well as Scotch eggs, sausage rolls and hearty food by MYPIE. Rooftop gin masterclasses tell of the famous frost fairs of days gone by, inspiration for the juniper-filled cocktail making masterclass. Background Bars are also in residence, serving winter themed tipples and mocktails to warm up from within, including a mulled apple punch and a chamomile fizz.

From Piccadilly Circus to Oxford Circus, the capital's world-famous Regent Street will be closed to through traffic so it can, once again, host the annual Regent Street Motor Show, the UK's largest free-to-view motoring extravaganza. Three hundred cars from the past, present and future go on display as 120-year old classics are parked up alongside the latest zero emission electric models. Held the day before the Bonhams London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, the motor show includes around 100 of the cars vying for the honours. Added to all this are stage shows, street entertainment by dance troupes and a motorcycle stunt team, making it an exciting day out for car fans.

Neverland London returns for winter with a brand new theme, bringing the Alps to London and there are bauble filled igloos and firepits to keep you warm. Retro gondolas and chairlifts help turn Fulham's Thameside food court into a ski resort as Winterland transports guests back in time to the Alps in the 80s and 90s. Jimmy's Lodge is in charge of the food, serving wood fired, sourdough pizzas with festive toppings, fondues and schnitzels, best enjoyed in the warmth of a heated winter lodge and washed down with some mulled wine. You can also sip on winter warmer cocktails from the comfort of the fur lined sofas. For those more playful moments, a karaoke booth, curling lanes, beer pong, putting pong, table tennis and more can be found within Fulham's very own ski resort.


Flat Iron Square: Alpine Village

Conifer trees, a canopy of lights, two bandstands and heated areas give Flat Iron Square a winter makeover. Nestled amongst the pines, the Apres London wooden ski chalet brings the on-site bars to four, alongside Omeara Cantina, The Flat Iron Square Bar and 'on tap' wine bar, Tap & Bottle. Warming drinks are served at all the bars and you can visit a sweet shop, bakery and wine merchants with immersive shops fronts. Book in for two hour wreath making classes on 5th, 11th and 19th December and you'll get a free glass of Prosecco thrown in. The regular weekend Flea Market gets more a festive feel as December approaches and there's a special Christmas market on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th December. Expect carollers, mulled wine and a brass band, as well as a closing Christmas party in December.

South London's answer to Winter Wonderland, Winterville returns to Clapham Common for 2018. Street Feast, Backyard Cinema, the Ice Rink, Twisted Wheels Roller Disco, Plonk Golf, the Fairground, Spiegeltent and pop-up pub Bar Humbug all return. But there's also plenty of new entertainment too. The Christmas Labrinth, a huge magical maze from Backyard Cinema, leads to a two-screen cinema in an enchanted forest with a cabaret-themed bar and a hidden tequila bar. Aerial sensationalists Chivaree Circus debut their brand-new production CRASH in the Spiegeltent. And for the first time the Winterville Spiegel hosts comedy with a special showcase of Rabbit Rabbit Comedy's favourite comedians including Kerry Godliman, Fin Taylor and Tony Laws. There's everything from Mexican wrestling to Mighty Hoopla with family fun from in a converted double decker bus as Bus King Theatre's stage magical puppet show What Is That In My Hat?
