To celebrate the Japanese Cherry Blossom, or Sakura, the terrace at Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch has been transformed into a peaceful haven with pink florals covering the walls. In Japan, millions of people drink, dance and dine beneath the blossom and Hanami brings the spirit of this tradition to London for the summer. The scent of jasmine hangs in the air at The Mandrake, a 34-room independent boutique hotel set around central courtyard surrounded by hanging gardens. Set up by entrepreneur Rami Fustok, a Londoner born in Beirut and the son of sculptor Bushra Fakhoury, the hotel has been inspired by the medicinal properties of the Mandrake plant. The J Sheekey Atlantic Bar terrace is an elegant spot for some top notch pre-theatre food. The hotel's lobby art installation, The Worm, has also undergone a tropical transformation, with a floral living wall and a 3-D effect butterfly. The summer oasis, created in partnership with Veuve Clicquot Rose, has brought the bar and garden into bloom with flowers, banana leaves and palm plants climbing up the onyx bar.
