I Am Ashurbanipal: King Of The World, King Of AssyriaBe transported back to ancient Iraq in the 7th century BC, when Ashurbanipal became the most powerful person on earth. From his capital at Nineveh, he ruled a vast and diverse empire, shaping the lives of people from the shores of the eastern Mediterranean to the mountains of western Iran. This major British Museum exhibition tells the story of Ashurbanipal, told through over 200 items, Assyrian treasures and rare loans including carved ivory, ornate chariot fittings and elaborate weaponry. The display also recreates the king's great library showing its scale and significance.

About British Museum

If you wanted to thoroughly explore the British Museum, it would take months, if not years. Over seven millions objects from all over the world are housed in this impressive museum of human history and culture (many of the artefacts are stored underneath the museum due to lack of space).
