IVF: 6 Million Babies LaterThe Science Museum celebrates 40 years of IVF with its major new exhibition, IVF: 6 Million Babies Later. Exploring the remarkable story of in vitro fertilisation, the exhibition looks at the years of experimentation, the hundreds of failed attempts and setbacks, and the 'miraculous' inaugural IVF birth in 1978. On display will be one of the old 'Oldham Notebooks', as they are known, which record the scientific data collected by Purdy and Edwards between 1969 and 1978. The equipment they used will also be shown alongside press coverage from the period and personal correspondence and gifts received by Louise's parents from the public around the world.

About Science Museum

The Science Museum in South Kensington houses one of the most comprehensive collections looking at the development of science and industry, and it is all done in a fun and creative way. This museum is one of the most interactive in the city, with lots of hands-on exhibits. More about Science Museum
